Kraft Dinner Launches KD Ramen in Three Flavours Exclusively in Canada
Kraft Dinner Launches KD Ramen Exclusively in Canada

Kraft Heinz Canada has introduced three varieties of KD Ramen, marking a significant expansion of the iconic brand beyond its traditional macaroni and cheese. The new product line, available exclusively in Canada, includes Cheesy Ramen, Extra Cheesy, and Extra Spicy flavours. Consumers can sample all three for free at select 7-Eleven stores across the country from Thursday, June 25, through Saturday, June 27, between 9 p.m. and midnight, while supplies last.

Free Sampling Event at 7-Eleven Stores

The promotional giveaway will take place at participating 7-Eleven Canada locations in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, and Winnipeg. This limited-time event allows superfans to taste the entire trio before the products become widely available in July. According to Kraft Heinz Canada, the initiative aims to generate buzz and gather consumer feedback ahead of the national rollout.

“The new ramen lineup comes as ramen continues to grow in popularity among Canadians, specifically cheesy ramen which is emerging as one of Canada’s fastest-growing food obsessions,” the company stated in a press release.

Inspired by Global Fusion Flavours

KD Ramen represents the brand’s interpretation of the cheesy ramen trend, which has gained traction worldwide. The product combines the familiar, comforting taste of Kraft Dinner with the convenience and format of instant ramen. Kelly Fleming, chief marketing officer for Kraft Heinz Canada, explained the strategy behind the launch.

“For generations, Canadians have turned to KD for comfort, craveability, and unmistakable cheesy flavour,” Fleming said in a statement. “With KD Ramen, we’re bringing that iconic KD cheesiness to an entirely new aisle and occasion. It’s a bold new way for Canadians to experience the flavour they know and love.”

The three varieties cater to different taste preferences: Cheesy Ramen offers the classic KD experience, Extra Cheesy doubles down on the cheese factor, and Extra Spicy adds a kick for those seeking heat.

Exclusive Canadian Launch and Availability

KD Ramen will launch exclusively in Canada, appearing in the ramen aisle of grocery stores, convenience stores, and big-box retailers nationwide starting in July. This strategic move positions Kraft Heinz to compete in the rapidly growing instant ramen market while leveraging the strong brand loyalty KD enjoys among Canadian consumers.

Last month, Kraft Dinner also experimented with a limited-time dessert offering: KD Mac & Cheesecake, available exclusively at Toronto’s SanRemo Bakery and other participating bakers across Canada from May 26 to June 12. That product, a sweet take on the savoury classic, sold out quickly, demonstrating the brand’s ability to innovate and capture consumer interest.

Growing Popularity of Ramen in Canada

The launch of KD Ramen aligns with broader trends in Canadian food culture. Ramen consumption has surged in recent years, driven by both traditional Japanese styles and fusion variations. Cheesy ramen, in particular, has become a viral sensation on social media platforms, with consumers sharing recipes and reviews. By entering this space, Kraft Heinz aims to capitalize on the trend while offering a product that feels familiar to KD fans.
