Two adults and two children were killed in a collision between two vehicles in Rocky Mountain House on Friday afternoon, according to RCMP.
Details of the Crash
Rocky Mountain House RCMP responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle collision on O’Chiese Road shortly after 4:30 p.m. The crash involved two vehicles.
In one vehicle, which contained three occupants, the driver—a 74-year-old man—and one passenger—a 51-year-old man—were declared deceased at the scene. Both were residents of Rocky Mountain House. The third occupant was transported to hospital with injuries.
A second vehicle contained three adults and two female children. The girls, ages 5 and 6, were declared deceased at the scene. Both were residents of O’Chiese First Nation. All three adults were transported to hospital with injuries.
Investigation Ongoing
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. In a statement released Saturday, RCMP expressed condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
Authorities have not released further details about the victims or the circumstances leading up to the crash. The community mourns the loss of life in this tragic event.
