Vancouver-based swimwear brand Londre Bodywear has launched a line of waterproof bags designed to solve the common problem of keeping personal belongings safe while swimming alone at the beach. The collection includes a waterproof belt bag and an oversized waterproof tote, both engineered to IPX7 standards, meaning they can be submerged in up to one metre of water for up to 30 minutes without leaking.
Addressing a real need for solo beachgoers
Co-founder Ainsley Rose identified the gap in the market during her travels to over 44 countries. “I could never find a bag that had the functionality I needed — like being waterproof and good for my laptop, but still felt esthetically appealing,” Rose said. “It felt like my needs, as an adventurous, on-the-go woman were retrofitted into the boys’ world of adventure bags.”
Rose and co-founder Hannah Todd spent two years designing the accessories, aiming to create Bond-girl-inspired pieces that combine style with practicality. The bags are intended for “women whose lives are too full to be switching bags all the time,” Rose explained. “For the women who want to do more with total confidence from the commute, to the airplane to the beach.”
Exceptional early sales and design details
Since launching this season, the response has been extraordinary. “We sold out of our first round before it was even ready to ship,” Rose said. “People have been stunned — the fact that it’s fully airtight but beautiful enough to bring anywhere makes it completely unique.” The airtight dry bags are so reliable that the brand suggests they are safe for carrying laptops.
Founded in 2017, Londre Bodywear built its reputation on sustainable swimwear made from recycled plastic. The new bag line continues that ethos, offering a functional accessory that doesn't compromise on aesthetics. The bags are priced between $98 and $288 and are available at Londrebodywear.com.
