Pedestrian struck by bus in critical condition
A pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a bus in Surrey, British Columbia, on Sunday, July 12, 2026. The incident occurred in the 10400 block of 152A Street, according to Surrey RCMP.
Police responded to the scene at approximately 10:30 a.m. PT. The pedestrian, whose identity has not been released, was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The bus driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
Investigation underway
Surrey RCMP's Criminal Collision Investigation Team has taken over the investigation. Officers are interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage to determine the cause of the crash. No charges have been filed at this time.
Traffic in the area was disrupted for several hours as police conducted their investigation. The bus involved was removed from the scene for mechanical inspection. TransLink, which operates the bus service, has not yet commented on the incident.
