A 23-year-old man was killed outside a Tim Hortons in Oshawa early Tuesday morning, prompting a homicide investigation by Durham Regional Police.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting at the coffee shop located near Simcoe Street and Rossland Road around 2:30 a.m. Upon arrival, they found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim's identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin. Police have not yet announced any suspects or arrests.
Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dashcam or surveillance footage from the area to come forward.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are asking the public to avoid the area as officers continue their work.
