Construction has officially commenced on the new housing for a state-of-the-art MRI scanner at the Rizzardo Health and Wellness Centre in Innisfil, Ontario. The project marks a significant milestone in expanding access to advanced medical imaging in the region.

The scanner, a MAGNETOM Flow Elite model, is one of the first of its kind in Ontario. Designed with both patients and care teams in mind, the next-generation system offers a wider opening, faster scan times, and built-in artificial intelligence to support high-quality imaging. Notably, it uses virtually no liquid helium, making it more environmentally friendly and cost-effective.
Community Impact
The new facility will enhance diagnostic capabilities for residents of Innisfil and surrounding areas, reducing the need for travel to other cities for MRI scans. The project is part of a broader effort to improve healthcare infrastructure in the region.
