Woman Charged with Drunk Driving After Hit-and-Run Collision

A female driver has been charged with impaired driving after allegedly fleeing the scene of a collision on Windsor's east side.

Windsor police responded Tuesday just before 3 a.m. to a call for a suspected impaired driver in the 1400 block of George Avenue.

A Jeep had collided with a parked vehicle before fleeing the scene. A short distance further, the Jeep struck a second parked vehicle, according to police.

Officers located the vehicle and spoke with the driver, who they allege smelled of alcohol and was exhibiting other signs of impairment.

The woman was arrested and taken to police headquarters where police said she failed a breath test.

No physical injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

A 46-year-old woman now faces two counts of impaired driving and one count of failure to remain at the scene of a collision.
