Empower Yourself with Knowledge: HPHA Hosts Stroke Awareness Community Fair

On Monday, the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) will host a stroke awareness community fair aimed at educating the public about stroke prevention, recognition, and recovery. The event, titled "Empower yourself with knowledge," is part of HPHA's ongoing commitment to community health and wellness.

The fair will feature interactive booths, informational sessions, and health screenings. Attendees can learn about risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and lifestyle choices that contribute to stroke. Healthcare professionals will be on hand to answer questions and provide resources for stroke survivors and their families.

"Stroke is a leading cause of disability, but many strokes are preventable," said a HPHA spokesperson. "Our goal is to equip the community with the tools they need to reduce their risk and recognize the signs of a stroke early."

The event will take place at Stratford General Hospital, a key facility within the HPHA network. Activities include blood pressure checks, cholesterol screenings, and demonstrations of healthy cooking. Participants will also have the opportunity to speak with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and nutritionists.

"We want everyone to leave feeling more confident about their health," the spokesperson added. "Knowledge is power, and this fair is designed to empower."

The stroke awareness fair is open to all community members free of charge. For more information, visit the HPHA website or contact the hospital directly.
