This figure falls comfortably below the critical 500 million litre threshold and represents a two million litre reduction compared to Monday's consumption levels.
Infrastructure Repairs Progressing as Planned
While residents continue their water-saving measures, municipal crews are making steady progress on the Bearspaw South feeder main reinforcement project. Two of the three pipe sections have been completely drained, with work continuing to remove water from the final segment. Excavation operations to expose the feeder main across all work zones are proceeding according to the established timeline.
Traffic Adjustments and Safety Measures
The ongoing repair work has necessitated several transportation adjustments in the affected areas. Lane reductions are currently in effect on 16th Avenue N.W. near the Sarcee Trail interchange, with only one lane available in each direction. Additionally, both the 16th Avenue N.W. exit ramp onto Sarcee Trail and the exit off Sarcee Trail onto westbound 16th Avenue N.W. remain closed to traffic.
Motorists traveling west on 16th Avenue N.W. are advised to plan their routes accordingly to accommodate these changes. The city emphasizes that all active worksites are restricted to authorized personnel only, and the public is reminded to respect construction zones by adhering to posted signage and maintaining a safe distance from work areas.
Continued Conservation Efforts Encouraged
City officials are urging Calgarians to maintain their water-saving practices and help spread awareness about conservation methods. Effective strategies include:
