Clouds continue to hover over central Edmonton as the city prepares for additional showers and thunderstorms over the coming days. The weather pattern, which brought unsettled conditions on Monday, is expected to persist through the week.
Weather Outlook
According to meteorologist Josh Classen, the region will experience repeated rounds of rain and thunderstorm activity. Residents should be prepared for intermittent downpours and potential localized flooding in low-lying areas.
“We’re looking at a very active weather pattern,” Classen said. “Each day will bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms, some of which could be severe.”
Safety Precautions
Environment Canada advises residents to stay informed about weather alerts and to avoid driving through flooded roads. Lightning strikes are also a concern during thunderstorms, so seeking shelter indoors is recommended.
The unsettled weather is expected to continue until at least Thursday, when a ridge of high pressure may bring drier conditions. However, forecasters caution that the pattern remains uncertain.
