Blue Jays Stars Lead MLB All-Star Voting

Ernie Clement and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. are leading the fan vote for spots at the 2026 MLB All-Star Game in Philadelphia, as announced by MLB on Monday. Clement, who became a hero for the Blue Jays during their World Series run last year, leads all American League second basemen with 904,702 votes—more than triple the second-place candidate, Ezequiel Duran of the Texas Rangers.

Clement's postseason performance, where he set a record for most hits in a single MLB postseason, has carried over into this season. Through 71 games, he is batting .304 and leads the AL in doubles with 20. Overall, he has the fourth-most votes among AL players, trailing only Yordan Alvarez, Aaron Judge, and Mike Trout. The top vote-getter overall is Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers with 1,165,133 votes.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Leads at First Base

Perhaps a bigger surprise is Vladimir Guerrero Jr. leading the fan voting at first base, ahead of Ben Rice of the New York Yankees by nearly 94,000 votes. This comes despite Guerrero being criticized for a lack of power this season, with only three home runs and low ranks in analytical categories. However, he continues to get on base at a good rate. Guerrero signed a half-billion-dollar contract before the 2025 season.

Other Blue Jays in the Running

Several other Blue Jays are in strong positions. Andres Gimenez is second at shortstop, George Springer is second at designated hitter, and Alejandro Kirk is second at catcher—though Kirk has played only seven games this season due to a broken thumb. All three trail their respective leaders by at least 400,000 votes.

The tightest race is at third base, where Blue Jays rookie Kazuma Okamoto trails Junior Caminero of the Tampa Bay Rays by just over 69,000 votes.

How to Vote

Fans can vote on MLB's official website. Voting ends at noon on June 25, and fans can cast up to five ballots per day.
