The Amazing Race Canada has selected a pair of Vancouver best friends for its 12th season, set to premiere on July 7 at 9 p.m. on CTV and Crave. The season kicks off atop Whistler Mountain with what CTV describes as "one of the biggest twists in The Amazing Race Canada history."
The Vancouver Team
Keshia Gordon, 35, a DJ and events host, and Nova Stevens, 33, a pageant and mindset coach who was crowned Miss Universe Canada 2020, will compete as one of 10 teams. According to their official CTV bio, the duo "connected instantly when they met in 2010 at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology on basketball scholarships. Natural athletes, they thrive on pushing their limits and motivating each other to be better."
Season 12 Details
Hosted by Jon Montgomery, the season features teams from across Canada. The winning team will receive $250,000 in cash and a trip around the world. Other teams include Edmonton sisters Chyana Marie Sage, a bestselling author, and Chayla Delaney Rain, an executive assistant; Calgary couple Filipe Masetti, a horseback guide, and Clara Daval, a student; Winnipeg brothers Sacha Régnier, a custom upholsterer, and skeleton athlete Sébastien Régnier; Hamilton twin sisters Christina "Tina" Liao, a corporate lawyer, and Dr. Elizabeth "Liz" Liao, a family doctor; Toronto brothers and content creators Michele Bruzzese and Matteo Bruzzese; married Toronto YouTube entrepreneurs Eamon Fitzgerald and Rebecca "Bec" Moroney; Windsor mother-son duo and business owners Surria Fadel and Ameen Fadel; Newfoundland mother and daughter team Dana Martin-Kelly, a massage therapist and fitness instructor, and Coredelia Richards, an esthetician; and longtime pals Canadian rap icon, actor, and motivational speaker Maestro Fresh Wes of Saint John, and fellow hip hop artist and motivational speaker Duane "D.O." Gibson of Woodbridge, Ont.
Impact and Anticipation
The inclusion of a Miss Universe Canada titleholder adds star power to the season. Stevens' experience in pageantry and Gordon's background in events hosting may give them an edge in challenges requiring poise and public speaking.
