As expected, this week's episode of "Euphoria" delivered a mind-bending experience, particularly the opening montage depicting Sydney Sweeney's character Cassie's ascent to OnlyFans stardom. The sequence culminated in a surreal scene where Cassie transformed into a giant, leaving viewers stunned.
Prior to that, viewers witnessed Cassie and her former best friend turned manager Maddy, played by Alexa Demie, creating explicit content, mailing Cassie's used underwear to fans, and acquiring an excessive collection of sex toys. The duo also employed ragebait tactics to boost Cassie's public profile, with Cassie making provocative statements on podcasts, such as "American men have been treated like second-class citizens" and "men should be free."
Online personality Trisha Paytas, who portrayed one of the podcast hosts, has now disclosed that her shocked response was completely genuine, as she was not provided with a script. In the aired snippet, Paytas asks Cassie if she believes men are "too restricted by society," to which Cassie replies, "Yes! Like, if a man today were to say that he wants a girlfriend who could cook or clean, he might as well be screaming the n-word!" Paytas audibly gasps and awkwardly stammers, while Maddy, off-camera, gestures approval.
Paytas shared behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram, writing, "Euphoria. I had no script so that speechless reaction was real ? Adding actress to my resume ?" She previously recounted the experience on her podcast "Just Trish," saying, "Oh my god, the lines were so crazy!" and noting that the director, Sam Levinson, loved her improvised reaction. It remains unclear if Paytas will appear again in the third and final season of "Euphoria."
