Smashing Pumpkins Announce Vancouver Concert as Part of Rats in a Cage Tour
The Smashing Pumpkins have confirmed a Vancouver stop on their upcoming Rats in a Cage tour. The iconic Chicago rock band will perform at Rogers Arena on November 5, 2026, as part of a tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of their landmark 1995 album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.
The show will feature two distinct sets. The first set will exclusively showcase songs from Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness in a highly theatrical setting. The second set will draw from the band's extensive catalog, spanning from their debut album Gish to their most recent release Aghori Mhori Mei, offering variety from night to night.
Band leader Billy Corgan described the production as one of the most lavish live presentations the group has ever staged. "Staging a Mellon Collie-themed show is something we've discussed for over a decade, and finally the stars have aligned," Corgan said. "We built a special night around its most enduring aspirations and ideas."
Tour Dates and Ticket Information
The Rats in a Cage tour kicks off on September 30 in Columbus, Ohio. Prior to that, the band will headline the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago on July 31, marking their first appearance at the festival since 1994.
In Canada, the band will also perform on October 7 at the TD Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario, and on November 3 at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta.
Tickets for the Vancouver concert go on sale Tuesday, May 19, at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster.ca. The show is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. No support acts have been announced yet.
Deluxe Reissue and Recent Releases
Fans of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness can also enjoy a deluxe vinyl reissue of the album, which includes previously unreleased live recordings from the band's world tour three decades ago. The special edition also features reworked versions of past hits with the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
This release complements the band's recent output, including the 2023 triple album Atum: A Rock Opera in Three Parts and 2024's Aghori Mhori Mei.
Billy Corgan, who also serves as acting president of the National Wrestling Alliance, has been instrumental in bringing the NWA back to broadcast television. It remains to be seen if any wrestlers will appear on the tour, but Corgan's wide-ranging interests continue to shape his creative endeavors.
