Actor Hank Azaria, best known for his voice work on The Simpsons, is bringing his Bruce Springsteen tribute band to Calgary this summer. The EZ Street Band will perform at the Wildhorse Saloon on July 8, offering fans a glimpse into what Azaria calls his “crazy hobby.”
From Springfield to the stage
Azaria, who has voiced dozens of characters on the long-running animated series, has been performing as a Springsteen tribute artist for several years. The EZ Street Band recreates the energy and sound of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, with Azaria taking on the role of “The Boss.”
“It started as a fun thing with friends, and it just grew,” Azaria said in a previous interview. “I never expected it to become a real touring act.”
Calgary show details
The concert is scheduled for July 8 at the Wildhorse Saloon, a popular music venue in Calgary. Tickets are expected to sell quickly, given Azaria’s fame and the band’s growing reputation.
Fans can expect a setlist packed with Springsteen classics, including “Born to Run,” “Thunder Road,” and “Dancing in the Dark.” The band has been praised for its authentic renditions and high-energy performances.
More than a voice actor
While Azaria is widely recognized for his voice roles—including Chief Wiggum, Professor Frink, and Comic Book Guy—he has also appeared in live-action films and television shows. His musical side project allows him to connect with audiences in a different way.
“It’s a completely different kind of performance,” Azaria noted. “Instead of hiding behind a microphone in a booth, I’m out there on stage, singing and playing guitar. It’s exhilarating.”
For those unable to attend the Calgary show, the EZ Street Band has additional dates planned across North America. More information is available on the band’s official website.
