Canadian actress and model Pamela Anderson has publicly expressed her discomfort after an encounter with actor and producer Seth Rogen at the 83rd annual Golden Globe Awards, held on January 11, 2026. The tension stems from Rogen's involvement in the 2022 Hulu miniseries Pam & Tommy, which dramatized the 1995 scandal surrounding a stolen private sex tape featuring Anderson and her then-husband, Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee.
Award Show Encounter Sparks Old Wounds
During an appearance on Andy Cohen's SiriusXM radio show this week, Anderson, 58, detailed the moment she spotted Rogen in the audience while she was on stage presenting the award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy. The sight was enough to make her leave the ceremony early. "I went right to bed," Anderson told Cohen, according to a report by PEOPLE magazine.
She explained that the series, which Rogen executive produced and starred in, was created without her consultation or consent, focusing on what she describes as one of the most difficult periods of her life. "Seth Rogen, he did that (show) without talking to me... I just felt like, 'Eh.' You know?" Anderson recalled. "Like how can someone make a TV series out of the difficult times in your life, and 'I'm a living, breathing human being over here. Hello.'"
Anderson's Stance on Privacy and Exploitation
The Baywatch icon articulated a firm belief that personal tragedies should not be considered public property. "When you are a public person they say you have no right to privacy. But your darkest, deepest secrets or your tragedies in your life shouldn't be fair game for (a) TV series. That pissed me off a little bit," she stated during the interview.
Anderson admitted that seeing Rogen at the Golden Globes brought these feelings to the surface, describing the sensation as "a little yucky." She acknowledged that while she has been focused on her career—having completed five films in the past year—the unresolved issue occasionally affects her. Despite her feelings, she expressed a faint hope for reconciliation, saying, "Maybe he'll reach out to me and apologize. Not that that matters."
History of the 'Pam & Tommy' Controversy
This is not the first time Anderson has voiced her disapproval of the series. In her 2023 Netflix documentary, Pamela, a Love Story, she was clear that Rogen "should have had my permission" before moving forward with the project. She has also consistently stated that she has never watched Pam & Tommy and has no intention to do so, just as she never watched the original stolen tape.
The series, which starred Lily James as Anderson and Sebastian Stan as Tommy Lee, was met with critical acclaim upon its release. At the time, the stars defended the project's intent. James told Postmedia that she wanted to explore how Anderson was "mistreated" and that the story was an "essential and timely" reckoning with past media exploitation.
However, for Anderson, the artistic interpretation does not justify the foundational act of telling her story without her involvement. The recent award show incident underscores that for public figures, the line between public narrative and private pain remains a complex and often painful boundary long after the headlines fade.
