Margaret Qualley addressed rumors Friday about her reported separation from music producer Jack Antonoff, denying through a representative that they had been experiencing “trust issues” or that either of them had been unfaithful.
Rep Denies Infidelity and Trust Issues
“The narratives running in the press about Margaret and Jack are categorically untrue,” a rep for Qualley told People in a statement Friday. “There are no trust issues. There was no infidelity or anything outside of respect and partnership in this relationship.”
The statement continued, “They have deep love and care for one another. There are only two people in this marriage, and the sources who are talking to the press and commenting on their relationship are not people who know them. Please respect their privacy.”
Speculation Intensifies After Taylor Swift Wedding
Speculation about the couple came to a head last Friday when Antonoff attended the New York City wedding of his longtime collaborator Taylor Swift without Qualley — but with his sister, fashion designer Rachel Antonoff.
People reported Wednesday that Antonoff and Qualley had separated, while a source told the outlet they were still “figuring things out.” The producer was still wearing his wedding ring during a stroll Wednesday in Brooklyn, but Qualley appears to have mostly erased her husband from her Instagram page.
Relationship Timeline
Qualley and Antonoff hard-launched their relationship in 2022 with their red carpet debut at an AFI Awards luncheon related to her Netflix series “Maid.” They got engaged that May and tied the knot in August 2023 at a star-studded ceremony in Long Beach Island, New Jersey.
Antonoff is a singer-songwriter, lead vocalist of the rock band Bleachers and the ex-drummer and guitarist for the pop-rock group Fun. He has won 14 Grammys, producing three of Swift’s Album of the Year winners.
Qualley made her first onscreen appearance in Gia Coppola’s “Palo Alto” (2013) and has since starred in films like “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” (2019) and “The Substance” (2024), which landed her a Golden Globe nomination.
Mother's Pride
Qualley’s mother, actor Andie MacDowell, expressed pride in her daughter’s career path last year. “She takes so many chances,” MacDowell told Jimmy Fallon during a 2025 “Tonight Show” appearance. “She’s so much braver than I could have ever been. She really carved her own road, and I am super, super proud of her.”
