Jimmy Kimmel Mocks Pete Hegseth for Poland-Germany Blunder
Kimmel Roasts Hegseth Over Poland Deployment Mistake

Jimmy Kimmel took aim at Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Wednesday for a reported blunder that reportedly infuriated President Donald Trump.

Kimmel’s Monologue Targets Hegseth

Kimmel aired clips from Trump’s Cabinet meeting, where administration members publicly flattered the president. “No one was more effusive today than Pete Hegseth, who for Trump has been a bigger screw-up than Eric,” Kimmel quipped, referencing Trump’s son.

The Poland Deployment Error

Earlier this month, Hegseth canceled the deployment of 4,000 U.S. troops to Poland. The move reportedly surprised Pentagon and European officials and angered Trump. The Daily Beast reported that Trump called Hegseth to demand an explanation, only to realize Hegseth had confused Poland with Germany.

“You know, we’ve all made mistakes,” Kimmel said. “But only Pete Hegseth can make a ‘Donald Trump knows more about Poland than I do’ caliber mistake.”

A Joke About Drinking Habits

Kimmel sarcastically noted it was easy to see how the error occurred. “You try telling the difference between Poland and Germany after 16 Coors Lights,” he said, referencing Hegseth’s reported drinking. “It’s hard.”

Kimmel also reflected on the evolution of Polish jokes. “When I was younger, Polish jokes were a staple of comedy. Now, thanks to Pete Hegseth, the Polish are making those jokes about us,” he cracked.
