Kim Kardashian Reveals Kanye West Accused Her of Faking Paris Robbery
Kim Kardashian: Kanye Said I Faked Paris Robbery

In a deeply emotional revelation, Kim Kardashian has shared that her ex-husband, Kanye West, once accused her of fabricating the traumatic armed robbery she endured in Paris. The incident, which Kardashian has described as "seven or eight minutes of torture," occurred in the early hours of the morning in October 2016.

The Night of Terror in a Paris Hotel

A group of masked men broke into Kim Kardashian's Paris hotel room, holding her at gunpoint. The intruders stole millions of dollars worth of jewelry, including her valuable engagement ring. Speaking to David Letterman in 2020, Kardashian detailed how she was restrained with zip ties, duct tape, and handcuffs before being thrown into a bathtub while the robbers ransacked the room.

Despite the severity of the crime, which was a confirmed family emergency that caused Kanye West to halt a New York City concert mid-show, a segment of the public—and apparently her then-husband—questioned its authenticity.

A Betrayal from Within

In the latest episode of her Hulu series, The Kardashians, Kim revealed the hurtful accusation from Kanye. "My ex-husband had said, 'And you faked your robbery for a TV show,' and had said that in front of all these people," she recounted. "That was a knife to my heart."

Visibly emotional, she expressed how damaging it was to be disbelieved by someone so close. "Just to think that someone wouldn’t believe you — that’s so close to you, that should know you, that should know how much that affected your life — it just really bothered me," she said.

Seeking Closure in a Courtroom

Kim Kardashian took a significant step toward closure in May of this year by testifying for six hours in a Paris court. The legal proceedings allowed her to face the accused and hear their accounts and apologies.

"To finally go to trial and face these people and hear their accounts and apologies, I’m like, 'See, guys, it was real,'" she said through tears in a confessional. "I’m happy it’s over."

Reflecting on her mindset before entering the courtroom, Kardashian showed remarkable resilience. "I’m just not nervous. This was less than 10 minutes of my life. I’ve lived an amazing life," she stated. "That’s always given me a little bit of peace, just to know — what was it? Eight, nine minutes? — of pure terror and panic aren’t going to ruin me."

Kim and Kanye West, who were married at the time of the robbery, finalized their divorce in early 2021. Since then, their relationship has remained strained amid Kanye's series of controversial public actions.
