Jimmy Kimmel signed off for the summer on Thursday night, but President Donald Trump might not be getting much relief from the late-night taunting. During his final monologue before the break, Kimmel announced a slate of guest hosts.
And one name in particular might stick in the president's craw.
"As a special treat for our commander-in-chief, I asked one of his all-time favorites, Rosie O'Donnell, to be here to keep the hits coming," he said. "You're welcome. And all I ask in return, Mr. President, is that you don't do anything stupid while I'm gone."
O'Donnell is a longtime Trump nemesis, as the two have traded barbs since long before he ran for office. Earlier this month, outside of the Tony Awards, she called Trump an "asshole and a liar" as well as a "psychopath."
Trump, for his part, has threatened to take her citizenship away, something he cannot legally do since she was born in the United States.
Kimmel has taken summers off since 2020, when COVID-19 had him broadcasting from home, and guest hosts have filled in. The show will go into repeats next week until after July 4, when the guest hosts will take over, starting with Tiffany Haddish on July 6. She'll be followed by Ike Barinholtz and Colman Domingo.
Other guest hosts set to fill in include Anthony Anderson — who has become a summer regular — and Jelly Roll.
