CNN Panelist Blasts Scott Jennings, Fears Ban

Democratic strategist and frequent CNN commentator Julie Roginsky has launched a blistering public attack against the network and conservative panelist Scott Jennings, acknowledging the move could end her tenure on the air.

A Costly Critique on Substack

In a sharply worded post on her "Salty Politics" Substack newsletter, Roginsky expressed near certainty that her criticism would lead to a ban from CNN. The newsletter was pointedly titled, "I'm Probably About to Be Banned From CNN — But Someone Has to Say This About Scott Jennings." She wrote directly, "I'm fairly confident that this column will get me banned from CNN's airwaves."

Roginsky clarified that her issue is not Jennings' Republican affiliation or his support for former President Donald Trump. Instead, she took aim at his conduct, his contributions to discussions, and what his consistent presence signifies about CNN's evolving standards.

Allegations of Bad Faith and Disrespect

Roginsky's critique was highly personal and professional. She accused Jennings of maintaining an "at best, optional" relationship with factual truth, prioritizing rhetorical bluster over substantive debate. A central allegation focused on his behavior toward female colleagues.

She accused him of repeatedly talking over and displaying clear disdain toward female co-panelists during segments. Furthermore, Roginsky alleged a pattern of deceptive editing in his social media posts. She claimed he selectively shares clipped video segments to create a false narrative that he "owned" his debate opponents, suggesting he is "too chickenshit to post the whole segment that would expose the truth."

A Warning to CNN About Its Legacy

Roginsky challenged CNN's decision-making, posing a critical question about Jennings' value. She asked whether the network has considered, "What is Scott Jennings adding that could not be accomplished by any number of conservative analysts who are capable of making arguments without bad-faith theatrics?"

Her post concluded with a stark warning about the network's future. "CNN's legacy is not guaranteed," she argued. By continuing to provide a platform for Jennings, Roginsky contends CNN is making "a choice to debase discourse, excuse bad behavior, and signal that being loud matters more than being right."

As of the publication of her Substack post, neither Scott Jennings nor CNN had issued a public response to Roginsky's detailed allegations and criticisms.
