Toronto Police Investigate Threats to Multiple TDSB High Schools

On Monday, March 23, 2026, the first day students returned from March Break, eleven Toronto District School Board high schools received threats that prompted immediate police response. Toronto Police conducted thorough investigations at all locations and ultimately deemed the threats to be not credible, providing reassurance to the affected school communities.

Initial Threat at Marc Garneau High School

The first threat was reported early in the morning at Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute in Thorncliffe Park. In response to the threat, the school was evacuated as a precautionary measure while police conducted their investigation. After determining the threat was unfounded, students were allowed to return to the building and resume their normal activities.

Additional Threat at Winston Churchill Collegiate Institute

Another threat was directed at Winston Churchill Collegiate Institute, located at Lawrence Avenue East and Kennedy Road. This school implemented a hold and secure protocol while police investigated. Similar to the first incident, police concluded that this threat was also unfounded, allowing the school to return to normal operations.

Ongoing Investigation

While no arrests had been made as of Monday night, the investigation remains active.
