St. Clair College's Pie Your Prof Event Raises Funds for United Way Charity
WINDSOR, ONT: FEBRUARY 10, 2026 -- Approximately one hundred enthusiastic students at St. Clair College eagerly lined up for the opportunity to cram a pie directly into their professors' faces on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. This humorous and popular event, known as "Pie Your Prof," served as a highlight of the academic calendar and a key component of the college's "United Way Week" fundraising initiatives.
Fundraising Success and Community Spirit
The event saw thirty professors and student government presidents from both the Windsor and Chatham campuses willingly submit to the messy indignity in support of a charitable cause. Between the two campuses, the effort successfully raised approximately $1,200 for the United Way.
"These activities showcase the creativity and enthusiasm of the entire St. Clair College organization in support of United Way," said Stacey Van Roie, a relationship manager with United Way. "United Way could not do our work without community-minded partners like St. Clair College, whose leadership and generosity help create lasting change."
Where the Funds Are Going
The money raised will be directed toward vital local United Way programs, including:
- On Track to Success
- School Lunch programs
- Period Promise
- BaCK to School
One memorable moment captured during the event featured Professor John Lassaline taking a direct, creamy hit from student Andrew Weiler, symbolizing the lighthearted spirit of the fundraiser.
A Week of Charitable Activities
The Pie Your Prof event was just one of several fundraising activities organized throughout United Way Week at St. Clair College. Other scheduled events include:
- A chili sale on Thursday at the St. Clair College Centre for the Arts in downtown Windsor, with $1 from each cup sold donated to United Way.
- The "Pop That Gives Back" event at the Chatham campus on Thursday, where students can purchase a pop with a registered number for a chance to win a $100 grocery gift card in a draw.
- At the main Windsor campus on Friday, the Saints Student Athletic Association (SSAA) will donate $5 for every three-pointer made during the Saints men's basketball game at 3 p.m.
- "United in Love" takes place Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Chatham campus TSI Cafeteria, featuring a Valentine celebration with a 'Make your Own Valentine' booth and flowers and chocolates available for purchase.
These diverse events demonstrate St. Clair College's ongoing commitment to fostering community engagement and supporting charitable causes through creative and participatory fundraising efforts.
