Hamilton police have arrested four individuals in connection with a series of thefts and robberies targeting Shoppers Drug Mart locations across the city. The incidents, which began in April 2026, involved the theft of expensive fragrance products from multiple stores.
Investigation Details
Police began investigating after receiving reports of thefts from several Shoppers Drug Mart locations. Through surveillance review and investigative efforts, authorities identified suspects believed to be connected to multiple incidents. As the investigation progressed, police noted an escalation in the number of incidents, with suspects using hammers to smash glass display cases before stealing perfume and cologne products.
Three Robberies in Half a Day
On May 21, 2026, the suspects struck three locations within a short period. At approximately 9 p.m., three male suspects entered the Shoppers Drug Mart at 661 Upper James Street. One suspect used a hammer to smash fragrance display cabinets before fleeing with stolen merchandise in a grey Nissan Rogue. No injuries were reported.
Several hours later, at 1:49 a.m., police responded to a robbery at the 510 Concession Street location. Three suspects entered the store, smashed display cases, and stole fragrance products before fleeing in the same vehicle.
Later that morning, at 10:32 a.m., a third robbery occurred at the 1000 Golf Links Road location. Suspects smashed glass display cabinets while store employees and customers fled the scene.
Arrests and Seized Items
Following the final incident, police located the suspect vehicle and arrested four individuals without further incident. Authorities seized two backpacks containing perfume and cologne bottles with Shoppers Drug Mart stickers, one hammer, one crowbar, and one knife.
