Blue Jays' Springer sells Toronto mansion for $6M

George Springer appears to be preparing for a move, and it's not just about traveling with the Toronto Blue Jays. The four-time All-Star, whose six-year, $150-million contract concludes after this season, has reportedly sold his midtown Toronto mansion for $6 million after being on the market for over a month.

The property, located in the Lawrence Park South area, was listed in late April at $6.445 million but ultimately sold for nearly half a million less, according to real estate site HouseSigma. Springer purchased the home in January 2022, a year after signing with the Blue Jays.

Property Details

Mansion Global reported that Springer and his wife, Charlise, originally paid $6.43 million for the 5,300-square-foot stone Georgian colonial-style house. Built in 2005 and comprehensively renovated in 2019, the five-bedroom, six-bathroom home features bold marble and stone accents in the kitchen and bathrooms, according to brokerage SAGE Real Estate.

The primary bedroom, occupying its own wing, boasts vaulted 12-foot ceilings, a reading corner, a fully renovated ensuite bathroom, and a custom dressing room. Real estate broker Jason Fata described it as a true bedroom retreat. Secondary bedrooms include a nursery and a children's room with custom built-ins. The finished lower level currently serves as a playroom but could be converted into a home gym.

The house previously sold for $4.48 million in 2018. Springer declined to comment on the listing.

In addition to this property, Springer reportedly owns a seven-bedroom, 7.5-bath waterfront estate in Stuart, Florida, which he purchased for $9.5 million in 2024.

Springer's 2026 Season

Springer's performance this season has been challenging. Through 38 games, the designated hitter has posted a slash line of .211/.288/.367 with five home runs and 14 RBIs. He also missed two weeks due to a broken toe sustained in April.

Over six seasons in Toronto, Springer has a .261 batting average with 121 home runs in 664 games. He notably played a key role in last year's ALCS Game 7 against the Seattle Mariners, hitting a clutch home run to advance the team to the World Series.

The Blue Jays are currently in Baltimore for a four-game series against the Orioles, having won the opener on Thursday. After this series, they will face the Atlanta Braves for three games before returning to Toronto to host the Orioles at Rogers Centre on June 5.
