In a significant move to bolster safety for workers in isolated locations, Calgary-based industrial safety leader Bravo Target Safety has announced a strategic partnership with STARS Vigilant. The collaboration, finalized in December 2025, will integrate advanced GPS monitoring and real-time alert systems into Bravo's fleet of mobile treatment centre (MTC) vehicles.
Enhancing Medical Response in the Field
The core of the new agreement focuses on connecting Bravo's ground-based medical vehicles directly to the STARS Vigilant emergency communications centre. Established in 2008, this centre will now provide constant oversight of Bravo's MTCs, which deliver critical occupational health and safety services to energy workers operating in high-risk, remote areas across Canada.
Kevin O'Brien, CEO of Bravo Target Safety, emphasized that this step is a direct investment in innovation and continuous improvement for worker protection. "GPS functionality and real-time alerts improve communications with our mobile teams and significantly enhance the care we provide," O'Brien stated, highlighting the life-saving potential of faster response times when workers are far from traditional medical facilities.
A Busy Period of Strategic Growth
The announcement with STARS Vigilant concludes an active 18-month expansion phase for Bravo. The company, headquartered in a 20,000-square-foot Calgary office with a four-acre yard in Leduc and staff in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Ontario, has aggressively grown its service capabilities.
Recent strategic moves include the acquisition of Ottawa-based EHS Partnerships, a full-service environmental and health safety firm. Bravo has also formed key partnerships with several technology and service providers:
- A partnership with Edmonton's Proveo for remote space management systems.
- Collaboration with Denver-based FYLD, which uses an AI-powered platform to make front-line work smarter and safer.
- A recent agreement with Gitga'at Development Corp., a business owned by the Gitga'at First Nation in Hartley Bay, B.C., to enhance service delivery in northwestern British Columbia.
Commitment to Safety and Efficiency
Nicole Segstro, Director of Business Development at STARS Vigilant, praised Bravo's professional standards. "Bravo sets the standard for professional field medical operations, and we're proud to support their commitment to worker safety," Segstro said. She explained that connecting the MTC fleet to their emergency link centre via advanced GPS devices will ensure faster, more efficient responses during critical situations.
STARS, known for its fleet of 10 helicopters serving Western Canada, brings deep expertise in emergency coordination to this ground-based partnership. The integration is designed to create a seamless safety net for industrial workers, where every second of improved response time can have a profound impact.
This partnership underscores a growing trend in Canada's industrial sectors, particularly in energy and resources, to leverage technology and strategic alliances to protect personnel in the nation's most challenging work environments.
