Shannon Keast, a resident of Legal, Alberta, has become the province's newest millionaire after winning $5 million from Lotto 6/49. The winning numbers were 5, 27, 35, 38, 44 and 46. Keast purchased the ticket at the Mobil gas station on 100 Street in Morinville.

Keast described the moment she discovered her win on May 27. “When I scanned it in store, I didn’t realize I had won it right away, I just heard the sound,” she recalled. “I was trying to facetime my husband and I was shaking and crying!” The celebratory sound from the kiosk reader signaled a life-changing event.
Plans for the Prize
The Keast family has outlined their plans for the windfall. First, they will establish a stable financial future. “We have a few plans,” Keast said. “We’re setting up trust accounts for family and looking at buying a cabin in Saskatchewan.” Additionally, the couple intends to travel for a tropical celebration. “We’re also going to be taking a trip to Costa Rica for a wedding,” she added.
