Waterloo Man Charged After Kitchener Store Robbery

A 34-year-old Waterloo man has been charged following a robbery and assault at a store in Kitchener. Waterloo Regional Police responded to the incident on Tuesday evening at a business in the area of Fairway Road and Wilson Avenue.

According to police, the suspect entered the store and demanded money from the cashier. When the cashier refused, the suspect allegedly assaulted the employee and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Officers located the suspect a short distance away and arrested him without incident. He is charged with robbery, assault causing bodily harm, and possession of property obtained by crime. He was held for a bail hearing.
