Two separate ditch crashes in Essex County over the weekend have led to impaired driving charges, according to local police. The incidents occurred on Saturday and Sunday, with both drivers allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
First Incident
The first crash took place on Saturday evening in the area of County Road 42 and Walker Road. A vehicle was found in a ditch, and the driver showed signs of impairment. Police charged the individual with impaired driving and possession of an open container of alcohol.
Second Incident
The second crash occurred on Sunday afternoon near Highway 3 and Maidstone Avenue. A vehicle had left the roadway and ended up in a ditch. The driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
Police Response
Essex County OPP emphasized the dangers of driving under the influence, urging motorists to plan ahead for safe rides. No injuries were reported in either crash.
