Tim Hortons Customers Cry Foul Over Unmelted Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
Tim Hortons Grilled Cheese Melt Fail: Customers Complain

Tim Hortons brought back its grilled cheese and bacon melts on May 27, but many customers are finding the cheese far from melted. Social media is filled with complaints about cold cheese slices and disappointing sandwiches.

Customers Voice Displeasure Online

Reddit user FaytalRush posted a photo of their sandwich with four intact cheese slices, captioning it: 'My grilled cheese melt is not very grilled... Or melted.' TikTok user Carrie Hoeble shared a video saying, 'They gave me cold cheese on hot bread. The cheese is cold. They didn't even try.' Another TikTok user resorted to grilling their Tim Hortons sandwich at home, asking, 'Are you really making me melt my own damn cheese?'

Tim Hortons Responds to Feedback

Tim Hortons relaunched the melts due to popular demand, starting at $5.79. Matthew Feaver, head of innovation, said in a statement: 'Tims fans are passionate about their favourite menu items, and we heard loud and clear how much they missed Melts.' The chain has sold over 400,000 melts since the relaunch. In an email to National Post, Tim Hortons acknowledged the issue: 'We accept the feedback that we haven't gotten it 100 per cent right, so are working with Tims restaurant owners who are doubling down on training to ensure guests are served a great Melt every time.'

Possible Explanations from Former Employees

Some TikTok users claiming to be former employees suggested that drive-thru time pressures may be to blame. One user said: 'My store literally told us to speed up making them in order to make times so we didn't get in trouble by corporate.' Another added: 'These sandwiches can take 2-4 minutes to fully cook/melt on the panini press. If you order them through the drive through both you and the worker are screwed.'

Rare Success Stories

Amid the complaints, a few customers posted videos of perfectly melted sandwiches. One TikTok user's video showing a proper cheese pull drew comments like 'This is honestly the only one I've seen done right' and 'She must be like the golden ticket winner at Willy Wonka.'
