Frigidaire Gas Ovens Recalled in Canada Over Burn Hazard, Injuries Reported

Health Canada has issued an urgent recall for thousands of Frigidaire gas ranges sold across the country, warning of a significant burn risk due to a delayed ignition issue with the ovens. The recall, announced on Thursday, affects Frigidaire, Frigidaire Gallery, and Frigidaire Professional models, with at least one injury reported in Canada and 30 injuries in the United States.

Immediate Safety Concerns and Reported Incidents

According to Health Canada, the ovens in these ranges can experience a delayed ignition of the bake burner, which creates a potential risk of burns. As of March 11, a total of 62 incidents have been reported to Electrolux Group, the parent company of Frigidaire. The agency has advised consumers to immediately stop using the ovens in the recalled ranges and contact Electrolux Group for a free repair. It is important to note that Frigidaire ovens with cooktop burners are safe to continue using, as the issue is specific to the oven bake function.

The recall impacts gas ranges sold between June 2025 and January 2026, with 5,318 units sold in Canada and 174,800 in the United States. Owners of the following models are urged to cease use until a repair can be arranged:
