Robbie Logan, together with his parents Dave and Adrea Logan, opened RAD Toys and Games at the Centre Mall last year, just over two years after opening RAD Cards and Collectibles in the adjoining space. The two stores are connected by an internal walkway, allowing customers to move freely between them. RAD Toys and Games offers a wide range of products including LEGO, toys, puzzles, Hot Wheels, and board games.
Why Open RAD Toys and Games?
The previous tenant moved out of the mall, leaving the space available. The Logans were already feeling cramped in their existing store, and the mall wanted a toy store. They were open to the idea, and it has since grown into a full retail space. Both stores share a unified checkout system, so customers can pay for items from either side at any register.
Products Offered
RAD Toys and Games boasts an extensive LEGO selection, which has been a major draw. During the past Christmas season, customers remarked that the store had more LEGO than the official LEGO stores. The store has expanded its board game selection significantly, offering a variety of titles. It also carries puzzles from brands like Ravensburger and Cobble Hill, Melissa and Doug toys for toddlers, and Hot Wheels. The goal is to cater to every demographic with popular items.
LEGO Popularity
LEGO's popularity stems from its wide range of licenses including Star Wars, Marvel, Disney, and recently Formula 1. This variety appeals to many people, including the Logan family themselves, who each collect different themes.
What Makes the Store Stand Out?
The Logans emphasize customer service, aiming to provide answers to every question. They believe their LEGO selection is the largest in the city, possibly even in the province, noting that the closest official LEGO store is in Edmonton.
RAD Cards and Collectibles
The original store continues to offer sports cards, Pokemon cards, sports paraphernalia, custom framing, and more.
