FP Canada Launches Second Year of Diversity in Action Scholarship
FP Canada Diversity in Action Scholarship Returns for 2026

FP Canada has announced the opening of the 2026 application period for its Diversity in Action Scholarship, now in its second year. This initiative underscores FP Canada's ongoing commitment to expanding access to financial planning careers and fostering a more representative profession that can better serve all Canadians.

Scholarship Details

The annual scholarship will support five individuals pursuing Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification or Qualified Associate Financial Planner (QAFP) certification. Eligible applicants include women, racialized persons, Indigenous persons, 2SLGBTQ+ individuals, and persons with disabilities who can demonstrate financial need.

Each recipient will receive up to $5,000 to cover enrollment costs in a qualifying FP Canada Institute education program. Eligible programs include the QAFP Certification Program, the QAFP Certification Program for Mutual Funds or Securities Licensed Representatives, the CFP Certification Program, and the CFP Certification Program for Mutual Funds or Securities Licensed Representatives. These programs fulfill the complete education requirements for QAFP and CFP certification.

The Diversity in Action Scholarship is part of FP Canada’s long-term commitment to building a more inclusive profession under its IMAGINE 2030 vision. This vision aims to ensure all Canadians have access to professional financial planning that supports their diverse needs.

Application Requirements

Applicants must have completed a post-secondary degree or diploma or be in their final year of study. They must demonstrate financial need and an intent to pursue a career in financial planning through a written essay as part of the application process.

Applications are now open and will close on September 14, 2026.
