Edmonton's entertainment scene is buzzing this week with a mix of country music, festival fun, and cult TV nostalgia. From Corb Lund's four-night stand at the Starlite Room to the Rainmaker Festival in St. Albert and a Twin Peaks marathon, there's something for everyone.
Corb Lund at Starlite Room
Country star Corb Lund kicks off a four-night residency at the Starlite Room (10030 102 St.) on Thursday, May 21, 2026. Each night, he will perform one of his classic albums in full with his band, the Hurtin' Albertans. Thursday features his 2003 album Five Dollar Bill, including tracks like "(Gonna) Shine Up My Boots" and "No Roads Here." Friday highlights Hair in My Eyes Like a Highland Steer, which spawned hits such as "Truck Got Stuck" and "Truth Comes Out." Saturday showcases Cabin Fever (2012), with songs like "Gettin' Down on the Mountain" and "Cows Around." The run concludes Sunday with the 2007 album Horse Soldier! Horse Soldier!, featuring gems like "My Saddle Horse Has Died" and "Lament for Lester Cousins." Note that Friday and Saturday shows are already sold out, but tickets remain for Thursday and Sunday. Shows start at 7 p.m. each night, and tickets are $62.17 at thestarliteroom.ca.
Rainmaker Festival in St. Albert
For a KDays-style experience before the main event in July, head to the Rainmaker Festival in St. Albert. This two-day fair offers rides, food trucks, games, and concerts. Friday, May 22 is Rock Night, headlined by punk legends Gob, with support from Econoline Crush, Royal Foundry, TEN02, and Backwoods Superfreak. Saturday, May 23 is Country Night, featuring Chad Brownlee, Morgan Klaiber, Ben Chase, and Parliament of Owls. Both concerts start at 6 p.m. Daily general admission to the fair is $5, with kids 7-12 admitted for $9. The 18+ concerts are $100 each.
Twin Peaks Marathon
Fans of the surreal TV series Twin Peaks can enjoy a marathon screening of the original series and the 1990 prequel film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me at a local venue. Check listings for details and times.
