RONA Donates $300K for New Beds at Windsor Recovery Home

The RONA Foundation has pledged $300,000 to support Windsor's Brentwood Recovery Home in constructing new transitional housing units, adding six beds for individuals in recovery.

Funding from Annual Campaign

The donation is part of $1 million raised through the 2026 Build from the Heart fundraising campaign, which benefits seven non-profit organizations across Canada for construction and renovation projects.

RONA Foundation board president Catherine Laporte highlighted the collective effort behind the campaign: “I am extremely proud of how involved everyone was in our campaign again this year, whether it was our teams, our clientele or our vendor partners. The results we generated are a testament to our amazing collective engagement and real desire to make a difference in our communities.”

How Funds Were Raised

Funds were generated through an annual golf tournament, self-checkout donations, and a fundraising campaign at corporate stores, the company’s Quebec distribution centre, and its website. Additionally, appliance partners including Samsung, GE, Bosch, Electrolux, Whirlpool, and Midea contributed $5 from each major appliance sold between April 18 and May 29.

The campaign's goal is to support non-profits in revitalizing living environments or providing housing access for victims of domestic violence and their children, low-income families, and people with disabilities or mental health issues.

Laporte expressed gratitude: “We are achieving great things together, as this campaign shows. I would like to thank each and every person who contributed for their incredible generosity and support. Thanks to you, we can offer hope to vulnerable Canadians.”
