Canadian and Ukrainian drone manufacturers have signed a landmark agreement to supply unmanned aerial vehicles to Ukraine's armed forces, according to officials familiar with the deal. The pact, announced on Wednesday, aims to bolster Ukraine's defense capabilities as the war with Russia continues.
Strategic partnership
The partnership involves technology sharing and joint production of drones designed for reconnaissance and combat missions. Canadian firms, including Airlogix, will collaborate with Ukrainian manufacturers to accelerate delivery of advanced drone systems.
Airlogix's GOR UAV, displayed at the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries annual trade show CANSEC in Ottawa last year, is among the platforms expected to be deployed. The agreement also includes training and maintenance support.
Industry impact
Defense analysts say this collaboration strengthens Canada's role in supporting Ukraine while fostering innovation in the domestic drone sector. The deal is valued at several hundred million dollars, with deliveries scheduled to begin in late 2026.
