Scale AI, Canada's artificial intelligence cluster, led the Canadian delegation at VivaTech 2026 in Paris from June 17 to 20, marking its third consecutive year at Europe's largest technology event. The mission included more than 100 Canadian organizations and over 230 leaders in applied AI and research, all gathered at the Canada Pavilion to strengthen multinational partnerships with trusted allies.
Canadian AI Momentum on the Global Stage
The delegation's presence at VivaTech aligns with the Government of Canada's new AI strategy, which emphasizes international ambitions. This initiative is part of a major international sequence for Canada, including significant participation at the G7 and Eurosatory. The mission aimed to position Canadian expertise with key players in European and international markets, fostering collaborations based on shared democratic values.
Notable Participants and Announcements
Cohere, a Canadian leader in large language models, served as the mission's official AI partner. The company recently entered a partnership with German firm Aleph Alpha, strengthening its international alliances. Other prominent Canadian AI companies, such as Maya HTT and Vivid Machines, presented concrete AI products delivering tangible gains in productivity and performance across sectors like industrial AI and precision agriculture.
Several political and diplomatic figures attended, including Nathalie G. Drouin, Canada's Ambassador to France; Wendy Hadwen, Assistant Deputy Minister at the Department of National Defence; Ian Lafrenière, Deputy Premier of Quebec; and Nate Glubish, Alberta's Minister of Technology and Innovation. Their presence underscored Canada's commitment to supporting its national champions.
Breakthroughs and Awards
Canada's presence at VivaTech was marked by several breakthroughs. Reveal Life Science won the OVHcloud Startup Challenge World with its AI-assisted precision surgery technology, secured by Qohash. Zetane unveiled agentic AI solutions for complex document processes, while Vooban presented Morphe, a knowledge-transfer platform for teams and AI agents. ZeroKey also showcased OmniVisor AI, an agentic intelligence engine for industrial environments based on real-time 3D location data.
These announcements highlighted the capabilities of Canadian champions building concrete, secure, and exportable applied AI solutions that drive value for the Canadian economy.

Major ecosystem players, including 5C, Calgary Economic Development, Desjardins, Global Affairs Canada, Hypertec, Invest Ontario, IVADO Labs, Qohash, and Trade and Invest British Columbia, helped showcase the strength of a united Canadian ecosystem mobilizing to support international business development.
