The 2026 National Bank Open in Montreal will feature a star-studded field led by world No. 1 Jannik Sinner and 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic, tournament organizers announced on Wednesday.
Top Seeds and Notable Entries
Sinner, who won his third Grand Slam title at the Australian Open earlier this year, headlines the men's singles draw. Djokovic, a record 40-time Masters 1000 champion, is also confirmed for the event, which runs from August 7 to 15 at IGA Stadium.
Other top-10 players expected to compete include Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, and Alexander Zverev. The tournament will also feature Canadian stars Félix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov, who will look to build on strong performances on home soil.
Canadian Contingent
Auger-Aliassime, currently ranked No. 9, reached the semifinals in Montreal in 2022 and will aim to become the first Canadian champion since 1958. Shapovalov, a former top-10 player, has also shown strong form on hard courts.

Tournament Significance
The National Bank Open is one of nine ATP Masters 1000 events, drawing the sport's elite. Last year's champion, Alex de Minaur, is also expected to defend his title. The tournament serves as a key warm-up for the US Open, which begins later in August.
Tickets for the event go on sale next week, with organizers anticipating high demand given the strength of the player field. The tournament will be held at IGA Stadium, which underwent renovations last year to enhance the fan experience.
