The University of Saskatchewan Huskies hockey programs delivered a commanding performance against their provincial rivals, sweeping a home-and-home series against the Regina Cougars to conclude the 2025 portion of the Canada West schedule. In a display of defensive prowess, three of the four Huskies victories over the weekend ended in shutouts.

The Huskies men's team set the tone on Friday night in Regina. After conceding the opening goal eleven minutes into the first period, the Dogs responded with overwhelming force. They rattled off six unanswered goals to secure a decisive 6-1 road victory. Chantz Petruic led the charge with a pair of goals, while Ben Tkachuk, Zackery Somers, Rhett Rhinehart, and Raphael Pelletier each added singles to complete the scoring outburst.
The dominance continued on Saturday back at Merlis Belsher Place in Saskatoon. Offensively, Conner Roulette scored back-to-back goals, with Petruic, Chase Bertholet, and Josh Pillar also finding the back of the net.
Women's Team Showcases Goaltending Excellence
The Huskies women's team matched their male counterparts with flawless defensive efforts. On Friday night in Saskatoon, netminder Clara Juca stopped all 20 shots for her second shutout of the season in a 3-0 victory. The offense was supplied by Shelby Williamson, Kaysah Nurani, and Kahlen Wisener.
The series shifted to Regina on Saturday, where goaltender Colby Wilson was the story. Wilson made 32 saves to preserve a tight 1-0 win, also marking her second shutout of the campaign. Paris Oleksyn provided the game's only goal, securing the weekend sweep for the Huskies.
