Sport Calgary Announces Leadership Transition

Sport Calgary revealed on Friday that its President and CEO, Catriona Le May Doan, has concluded her nine-year tenure with the organization. The former Olympic speed skating gold medallist, who became a prominent figure in Calgary's sports community, is leaving amid expressions of deep appreciation from the board of directors.

The organization's board of directors expressed profound gratitude for Le May Doan's visionary leadership and significant impact during her nearly decade-long service. Jeff Booke, Chair of Sport Calgary's board of directors, emphasized her contributions to advancing access, performance, and partnership in sport across the city.

"On behalf of the board and our entire sport community, I want to thank her for advancing access, performance and partnership in sport across Calgary," Booke stated. He added that the organization plans to build upon the foundation Le May Doan established, carrying forward her emphasis on impact, innovation, and inclusion.
