The team's season ended in the Frozen Four national tournament quarterfinals with a 4-3 overtime loss to Wisconsin, where Romani played on the second line alongside notable NHL draft picks.
Romani opted to forgo his final season of junior eligibility with the OHL's Barrie Colts, taking advantage of recent NCAA rule changes that allow players from Major Junior leagues to receive scholarships.
