Giants' Dart Praises Trump, Carter Responds Then Backtracks
Giants QB Dart's Trump Praise Sparks Teammate Feud

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart expressed admiration for President Donald Trump at a campaign rally, leading to an apparent social media confrontation with teammate Abdul Carter that was later defused.

The Rally Incident

During a campaign event for Rep. Mike Lawler in Suffern, New York, on Friday, Dart handed the microphone to Trump, saying, "What an honor, what a privilege it is to be here. And without further ado, I'm grateful, I'm honored, I'm pleasured to introduce the 45th and 47th president of the United States of America, President Donald J. Trump." Trump responded warmly, later praising Dart's legs in an anti-trans rant, and the two shared a handshake and hug as Lee Greenwood's song played.

Carter's Reaction

Giants linebacker Abdul Carter, who entered the NFL alongside Dart in the 2025 draft, appeared displeased. He posted on X, "Thought this shit was AI, what we doing man," alongside a video of Dart's appearance. The post was widely interpreted as criticism of Dart's political display. Former Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes added, "The locker room is a sacred place... Calling a teammate out publicly for his political views and to get attention is nasty work."

Later that day, Carter changed his stance, writing, "Me and JD6 are good! We spoke earlier as Men. Yall can keep yall narratives." Offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor also tried to calm the situation, stating, "Locker Room is fine. Focus on New England." The Giants, under new head coach John Harbaugh who is also a Trump supporter, are aiming to improve after a 4-13 season that included a promising rookie year from Dart.
