The B.C. Lions are desperate for a win. After dropping their first two games of the 2026 CFL season, the Lions face a daunting task: the unbeaten Edmonton Elks visit BC Place on Saturday night.
Lions' struggles continue
Vancouver (0-2) has been inconsistent on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Nathan Rourke has thrown for 502 yards and two touchdowns but also three interceptions. The run game has been nonexistent, averaging just 68 yards per game. Defensively, the Lions have allowed 30 points per contest.
“We need to clean up a lot of things,” said head coach Rick Campbell. “Execution, penalties, turnovers — it's all been an issue. But I believe in this group. We're going to get it right.”
Elks remain perfect
Edmonton (2-0) has looked impressive early, outscoring opponents 62-38. Quarterback Tre Ford has completed 68% of his passes for 521 yards and four touchdowns, adding 112 rushing yards. The Elks defense has forced five turnovers.
“We're confident, but we know they'll be desperate,” said Elks head coach Jarious Jackson. “We have to match their intensity.”
The Lions are 2-7 in their last nine home games against Edmonton. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. ET.
