The Hockey Hall of Fame announced its 2026 induction class on June 22, 2026, headlined by goaltender Carey Price and forward Patrice Bergeron. The two NHL legends will be enshrined in Toronto later this year, recognizing their outstanding contributions to the sport.
Carey Price's Legacy
Carey Price, who spent his entire 15-season NHL career with the Montreal Canadiens, retired in 2024. He won the Hart Trophy as league MVP and the Vezina Trophy as top goaltender in 2015, and led the Canadiens to the Stanley Cup Final in 2021. Price also captured an Olympic gold medal with Team Canada in 2014 and a World Cup of Hockey title in 2016. According to the Hall of Fame, Price's career save percentage of .917 and 361 wins place him among the elite goaltenders in NHL history.
Patrice Bergeron's Career
Patrice Bergeron, a longtime Boston Bruins center, retired in 2023 after 19 seasons. He won the Stanley Cup in 2011 and earned six Selke Trophies as the NHL's best defensive forward, a record. Bergeron also won Olympic gold in 2010 and 2014 with Canada. Hall of Fame officials noted Bergeron's 1,040 points and plus-289 rating as evidence of his two-way excellence. "Patrice Bergeron redefined what it means to be a complete player," said Hall of Fame chairman Lanny McDonald in a statement.
Other Inductees
The 2026 class also includes former NHL defenseman Shea Weber, who played for the Nashville Predators and Montreal Canadiens, and women's hockey star Marie-Philip Poulin, a four-time Olympic medalist for Canada. The induction ceremony is scheduled for November 2026 in Toronto.
