Canada's Scoreless Loss to Morocco Stings

William Divitcoff of Toronto writes that Team Canada's loss to the powerhouse Moroccan team does not hurt as much as the goose egg score. He argues that in a do-or-die game, there is no room for feeling off, and putting Alphonso Davies on the field would have shifted Morocco's defense enough to at least score a goal.

FIFA Leadership Under Fire

Muri B. Abdurrahman of Thornhill criticizes recent changes in soccer governance, referencing a Washington Post article about a U.S. star returning to the game. He laments what he calls the gradual demise of soccer, claiming the sport is now run by an intruder with the connivance of a self-imposed dictator ruling by fiat. He calls for cogent reasoning behind what he sees as an illogical decision.

Immigration and Population Concerns

Tim Devlin of Toronto expresses concern over Canada's population growth under Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's Liberals. He argues that opening the door to millions of new voters without adequate homes, jobs, or financial support has led to overpopulation and crowding. Devlin states that a smaller population could help re-Canadianize the country back to established values that once made Canada the envy of the world.
