Halifax Regional Police are asking for the public's help in locating a driver who struck an 11-year-old boy in a crosswalk in Bedford, Nova Scotia, on May 19, 2026. The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Bedford Highway and Larry Uteck Boulevard.
Details of the Incident
The boy was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle. The driver fled the scene immediately after the collision. The victim was rushed to the IWK Health Centre in Halifax with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He remains in stable condition.
Vehicle Description
Police have released a description of the suspect vehicle: a dark-colored sedan, possibly a Honda Civic or similar model, with front-end damage. The vehicle was last seen heading east on Bedford Highway. Authorities believe the driver may have been traveling at a high rate of speed.
