A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Langley early Saturday morning, according to authorities. The incident occurred shortly after 4:30 a.m. on Fraser Highway between 232 Street and 240 Street.
Langley RCMP reported that officers responded to calls about a person in distress on the highway. Upon arrival, they found a pedestrian with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle. The driver had fled the scene before police arrived.
Despite the efforts of first responders, the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

Road closures are currently in effect in the area and are expected to remain in place for several hours on Saturday. Motorists and other road users are advised to seek alternative routes to avoid delays.
