Fox News host Jesse Watters employed extremely graphic language on Friday, urging California Governor Gavin Newsom to put former Vice President Kamala Harris “out of her misery” and to “slit her throat” ahead of the 2028 elections. Watters has frequently targeted Harris, the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee, previously calling her “not hot” and making jokes about her gender.
During an episode of “The Five,” Watters reacted to a Wall Street Journal article discussing a potential 2028 showdown between Newsom and Harris. “You gotta take the gloves off,” he said. “If he starts dancing around ‘cause he doesn’t wanna offend Blacks or women, that’s not gonna cut it. The media’s already gonna say you’re ‘mansplaining’ and you’re being mean. You gotta slit her throat and then just watch her die.”
Watters continued, “She can’t perform. Put her out of her misery. You see, she can’t cut it. She had a shot. She’s from the past. We can’t do the Biden era anymore.” He also mentioned Hunter Biden, son of former President Joe Biden, noting Hunter’s recent “redemption arc” as he has discussed his past substance abuse struggles on podcasts. “But just because he did drugs and now doesn’t do drugs doesn’t excuse the fact that he’s a jerk,” Watters added. “He’s still kind of a jerk, but he’s likable now. He’s actually pretty witty.”
The Wall Street Journal described Newsom and Harris as “fellow Bay Area Democrats who insist they’re friends but don’t always act like it,” calling them “two cats circling” each other as the 2028 election approaches. Watters has also previously called Newsom a “woman trapped in a man’s body” and “a terrible governor.”
