Woman killed in Mississauga hit-and-run; police seek witnesses

Peel Regional Police are investigating after a woman was struck and killed in a hit-and-run collision early Sunday morning in Mississauga.

Details of the incident

Officers responded to the area of Hurontario Street and Dundas Street East around 2:30 a.m. on July 5, 2026, following reports of a pedestrian struck. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver fled before police arrived.

The victim's identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin. No vehicle description has been provided, and investigators are canvassing the area for surveillance footage.

Police appeal for information

Police are urging anyone with dashcam or security camera footage from the area between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. to come forward. “We are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has information about the vehicle involved to contact us,” said Constable Sarah Patten, a spokesperson for Peel Regional Police.
