Langley RCMP are appealing for witnesses after a senior was found critically injured on Canada Day. The incident occurred on July 1, 2026, and police have not yet made any arrests.
Incident Details
Officers responded to a report of an injured person in the 20000-block of 64th Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a senior suffering from life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition.
Police have not released the identity of the victim or the specific nature of the injuries, citing the ongoing investigation. The area was cordoned off for several hours as forensic investigators collected evidence.
Police Appeal
“We are asking anyone who was in the area at the time or who may have information about what happened to contact us,” said Cpl. Craig van Herk of the Langley RCMP. “Even the smallest detail could be crucial to our investigation.”
Police are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity or has dashcam or home security footage from the area between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Canada Day.
Community Impact
The incident has shaken the normally quiet residential neighborhood. Residents expressed shock and concern for the victim. “This is a safe community, and something like this is very unsettling,” said a neighbor who asked not to be named.
